Being relatively new to Asia, I'm getting lots of chances to see some amazing places, people, and practices. Recently I travelled to Hong Kong for their New Year celebration. Hong Kong is an incredible mix of contrasts. Affluence and decay, drabness and color, natural and fake, western and eastern, chaos and efficiency. The ironies and contradictions boggle the western mind while instilling a respect for the paces at which life goes on and progress is made. The sheer variety of sights makes Hong Kong a place to always carry a camera.
